The Cape Girardeau Public School District is seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist for Cape Central Middle School for the 2024-25 academic year.
Brief Description of Position:
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent for Special Services, the Speech Pathologist is responsible for screening, assessing and identifying students with communication disorders which adversely affect their educational progress. The Speech Pathologist will develop and provide direct and indirect services within the student's educational setting, based on established IEP goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- A master's degree or any combination equivalent to a master's degree in the area of speech-language pathology from an accredited program in speech-language therapy, and all other requirements set forth by DESE
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Skills in human relations, leadership and conflict management.
- Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students
- Demonstrate skills in computer word processing, spreadsheets and data bases
- Experience in formative assessments, cooperative learning techniques, and data analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Professional Learning Communities
- Demonstrated experience and skill in teamwork, coaching and/or mentoring
