Responsible for teaching supports regarding child behaviors to include coaching and training staff within the Head Start/Early Head Start program. Responsible for establishing and implementing a system for addressing child behaviors with intervention plans insuring proper accountability consistent with performance standards and company policies.
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field. At least 40 hours of training in mental health/behavior content area. At least one year of experience working in mental health setting and experience with young children.
Train teaching staff on social emotional tools & strategies.
Identify concerns and ensure appropriate services and support is in placed based on referrals.
Be an active part of a multi-disciplilnary team and referral process for challenging behaviors.
Observe and provide feedback during home visits and group socialization, as needed.
Review child and family case notes upon completion of the Head Start intake process to prepare for classroom visits. Also offer support to families as needed prior to enrollment within the Head Start program.
Complete regularly scheduled site visits to Head Start/Early Head Start programs.
May also support staff during the educational home visits or requested home visits to observe the child at home.
