CAPE is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated kitchen aid to join our team. As a kitchen aid, you will play a crucial role in shaping the minds of our youngest learners and creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

The Kitchen Aid is responsible for the duties assigned for food distribution according to CACFP guidelines. The Kitchen Aide is responsible for adhering to Head Start Program Performance Standards, CAPE’s policies and procedures, CAPE’s Mission Statement, NAEYC and State Licensing Standards. Must be professional and be able to work cooperatively and respectfully with children, families, staff and community members.
- Build a positive relationship with families and children.
- Follow CACFP procedures in preparation and serving of meals and snacks.
- Monitor and record daily food temperatures.
- Measure and distribute prepared meals to classrooms based on count.
- Clean and sanitize dishes, kitchen drawers, cabinets, counters, stove, milk cooler, refrigerator and food carts.
- Ensure kitchen is clean and sanitary.
- Provide classroom coverage when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Perform all other duties as assigned
- Dishwashing: Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment after meals using proper sanitization techniques.
- Kitchen Cleanliness: Ensure the kitchen is cleaned thoroughly, including countertops, floors, and cooking equipment, following all health and safety regulations.
- Inventory Management: Assist with checking and restocking supplies such as ingredients, kitchen tools, and cleaning products.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper food handling, sanitization, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Other Duties: Perform other kitchen-related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
