Production / Packaging Associate

Cape Point Bait is a successful and growing wholesale frozen bait distributor to retailers and wildlife centers throughout the East Coast. We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable and career minded people who would like to join our team in Beaufort, NC and learn valuable packaging, production and warehouse skills. This shift starts work at 7AM Monday - Friday for 30 or more hours per week. The position performs many different packaging, production and warehouse related tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Correctly package products according to specifications.
• Supports the bait packaging processes including filleting fish, packing fish, vacuum sealing, etc.
• Accurately fill cartons and place on carts.
• Operate all necessary equipment in work area including electric pallet jacks, and other misc.
• Clean the processing areas, freezer, and receiving/shipping areas of debris and fish waste on daily basis.
• Assist in hand loading trucks.

Competencies:

• Have a good eye for detail and able to learn to identify product by size, type, style, color or product code.
• Ability to understand and willing to follow instructions.
• Previous experience in filleting fish is a plus.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Reliable transportation to/from work.
• Ability to consistently come to work on time and perform duties.
• Able to pass drug screen and background check. No felonies.
• Must have valid government ID.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to move/lift up to 25 lbs unassisted from floor to waist height.
• Position spends 100% of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing.
• Able to work in cold environment while wearing company supplied appropriate gear.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
