The Craftsmanship Specialist will be part of a small team in an Automotive OEM Craftsmanship Studio, responsible for color, gloss, texture, appearance reviews of a wide variety of automotive components from various suppliers, and harmonization of appearance across the complete vehicle.
- Review and approve pre-texture, mapping, post-texture, color and gloss for interiors and exteriors of components for local vehicular programs
- Perform harmonization reviews on complete vehicles for local programs
- Craftsmanship Specialist is responsible to review pre-texture, mapping, post-texture, color and gloss for interiors and exteriors of components
- Responsible for the continuous maintenance of the current components (i.e. supplier relocation, molding/tools maintenance, change of raw materials, new color implementation) which may involve the evaluation of 100 additional components
- Responsible to follow up the maintenance and calibration for all the equipment in the Laboratory
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 3 years professional experience, including at least 6 months in an interior execution / mastering / craftsmanship role in the Automotive industry
- Experience in paints, color, gloss and texture evaluations
- Demonstrated relationship building skills with ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
- Demonstrated ability to articulate, communicate and implement a strategy/vision
- Self-starter, able to work independently as well as in a team, able to follow directions and to make job related decisions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- High level of proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
- Note: In order to be selected for this role, a candidate would need to pass an HVC (Hue, Value, Chroma) color vision test, which will be administered by a certified tester at our client
- Ability to write technical specifications is a plus
- Knowledge of anomalies in tools that would prevent a tool from going to texture is a plus. Such as Flash, CNC Cutter Marks, Knit lines, Sink, Rough benching, EDM residue, etc
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $27.74/hour - $43.34/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
