MS Access Developer

Job Summary: The MS Access Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Microsoft Access databases to support business operations. They collaborate with various departments to understand their database requirements and create efficient, user-friendly Access applications to meet those needs.

Responsibilities:

• Database Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Access databases to store and manage data efficiently.
• Data Analysis: Analyze and understand business data requirements, and work with stakeholders to define database specifications.
• Data Entry Forms: Create user-friendly data entry forms that ensure accurate and easy data input.
• Query and Report Generation: Develop complex queries and generate custom reports to extract and present data as required by users.
• Data Integration: Integrate Access databases with other data sources, such as Excel, SQL Server, or SharePoint.
• Data Security: Implement and maintain data security measures to protect sensitive information within Access databases.
• Database Optimization: Optimize database performance by fine-tuning queries, indexes, and relationships.
• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for database designs, data dictionaries, and user guides.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT professionals, business analysts, and end-users to understand and address database-related needs and issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in Microsoft Access database development.
• Strong proficiency in Access, including VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) programming.
• Knowledge of database design principles, data modeling, and normalization.
• Familiarity with data integration and migration techniques.
• Ability to analyze and understand complex business processes and translate them into effective database solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with non-technical stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of data security best practices.
• Experience in database migration from MS Access to other database solutions.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with other database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL).
