The Mid-level Solution Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and executing tests for Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) Broadband products focusing on W-Fi. Using significant levels of available test automation, the engineer will support the fast-paced testing of Broadband products and ensure that test programs are delivered at high quality, on-schedule, on-budget, and successfully deployed to the field. Assists in managing project teams, developing test strategies, and designing quality engineering practices. Able to deploy manual/automation solutions to the fast-paced DevOps paradigm, quickly tailoring solutions to help identify, reproduce, and triage lab/field defects. Able to establish and maintain product test standards, procedures, and methods to enable seamless and efficient hardware/software product releases. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and share expertise.
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop and test Wi-Fi software features for Wi-Fi gateway/extender product.
- Provide technical assistance to teams to troubleshoot Customer Wi-Fi issues.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for Wi-Fi features, including functional, performance, security, and compatibility testing.
- Testing different Wi-Fi protocols (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), Wi-Fi security protocols (WPA2/3).
- Wi-Fi performance testing tools and methodologies & network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark)
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and track them through the bug tracking system (e.g., Jira).
- Collaborate with developers and triage engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Contribute to the improvement of QE processes and best practices.
- Hands on experience with test automation frameworks is a plus.
- Stay up to date with the latest Wi-Fi technologies and testing methodologies.
- Work in an Agile/DevOps environment.

Preferred Technical Skills
- Deep understanding of Wi-Fi Standards & strong experience in networking protocols and technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, DLNA, Routing, Switching, TR-069 protocol and MQTT
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols & Experience with embedded systems development
- Working experience of RDKB tech stack and Core networking concepts
- Good knowledge with SOC and OEM layers and components like Docsis, HAL
- Experience with Docsis3.1/4.0/FDX and Voice test automation framework and tools
- Knowledge of OpenWrt or similar embedded Linux distributions
- Experience with mesh networking technologies & understanding of IPv4/IPv6 networking.
- Knowledge of network diagnostic tools and packet analyzers (Wireshark, tcpdump)
- Understanding of CCSP (Common Component and Service Platform) architecture
- Familiarity with Wi-Fi drivers, especially open-source drivers like hostapd
- Understanding of network security protocols and WPA/WPA2/WPA3
- Strong knowledge and Hands on experience with Linux operating systems & Yocto"
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $36.98/hour - $57.79/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
