The Lead Wireless Engineer will be responsible for developing and integrating wireless modules and interfaces within Magnetic Resonance (MR) systems. The role includes assessing commercial wireless solutions, designing circuit boards, and ensuring reliability in challenging RF environments. Based in Waukesha, WI, this position requires onsite presence and a strong background in wireless and RF engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Wireless Solution Development:
- Assess commercially available wireless solutions for MR systems, focusing on reliability, power, and lifecycle.
- Define and execute rigorous testing to evaluate wireless concepts in challenging RF environments.
Design and Integration:
- Drive schematic capture for circuit boards implementing wireless designs and high-speed interfaces.
- Perform PWA (Printed Wiring Assembly) board bring-up and system integration.
Documentation and Support:
- Write detailed functional specifications to document designs and support product introductions.
- Provide technical expertise to support design fixes and resolve customer escalations.
Product Lifecycle Management:
- Engage in all phases of new product introduction, including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototyping, testing, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction, and service support.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- BS in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in wireless/RF engineering.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in digital design and control.
- Experience with wireless test equipment, such as protocol analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
- Knowledge of electrical test equipment, including oscilloscopes.
Project Management:
- Working knowledge of project management processes and procedures.
System Integration:
- Hands-on experience in PWA board bring-up and system integration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with designing wireless solutions for medical or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with lifecycle management and platforming of wireless modules.
