This position will perform various tasks in support of CAPCOG’s Air Quality Program including administrative, technical, research, and outreach work. Work involves assisting in data collection, analysis, preparation of reports, and regional outreach and education. This position will involve extensive interaction with external customers, including government, private sector, non-profit entities, and the general public. This is a temporary position, with the expectation that the employee will work at least 20 hours a week and no more than 40 hours a week. This position will end no later than September 30, 2025. As a temporary position, this position is not eligible for benefits that regular employees are entitled to. Position may be eligible for limited telecommuting.
Salary
$18.00 - $22.00 Hourly
Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Provides support and collaborates in the planning, development, and implementation of the CAPCOG Air Quality Program.
- Markets Air Quality Program goals and objectives to community and professional groups to encourage and/or improve interest in the program(s).
- Engages with Clean Air Coalition members to inform membership on air quality updates, solicit feedback, and provide technical assistance.
- Collects and analyzes air quality monitoring data to increase regional understanding of air quality conditions.
- Tracks and reports on program progress and performance.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of undergraduate coursework from an accredited college or university is required.
- Coursework in math or statistics, natural sciences, communications, or marketing is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of math and scientific terminology and principles, and statistical analysis processes.
- Knowledge of research techniques and report preparation.
- Skill in written and oral communications.
- Skill in operating computers and use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel programs.
- Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts.
- Ability to develop, evaluate, and interpret policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of air quality and the Clean Air Act is preferred.
- Ability to create visually pleasing graphics is preferred.
- Ability to read, speak, and write Spanish is preferred.
