Administrative Intern
Location: Pierre, SD

Wage: $17.75/hour
Position Description
This position is responsible for assisting the administrative leadership team and clinical supervisors with project-based work across the agency, focusing on process improvement, while gaining experience in community behavioral health, building a network and improving skills.
Duties / Responsibilities
Create a shared tracking spreadsheet for regulatory paperwork.
Assist in the completion of the emergency preparedness plan.
Assist with STARS data input and working denials from Streamline file upload.
Develop Streamline training guides using Streamline University.
Assist with the creation of clinical training calendar.
Complete interview room to be more kid friendly – purchase requests and shopping for supplies
Co-coordinate the 2025 Walk of Hope:
- Attend monthly planning meetings
- Assist with meeting agendas and minutes
- Reach out to sponsors
- Gather quotes for materials and help manage/track the budget.
Assist with managing the Foundation of Hope's social media account.
Assist in creating a management system for the Resource Library.
Organize and order materials and/or resources for the Resource Library.
Support suicide prevention and mental health promotion training (e.g., QPR, MHFA, YMHFA):
- Assist with preparation for training sessions
- Promote training opportunities
Assist in tracking productivity for staff.
Assist in data collection/tracking for MCR/QMHP.
Assist CARE team with resident needs at Bridgeway.
Assist with Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) child Lifebooks.
Observe TFC child visit / group / staffing meeting as determined appropriate.
Attend Children, Youth, and Family (CYF) clinical team meetings.
Attend DBT, SUD and other Groups as determined appropriate by Clinical Supervisor or Director.
Assist with CARE groups (organizing, purchasing supplies, etc.).
Shadow medication pass daily.
Assist in ordering family support supplies.
Assist at the front office reception desk with Administrative Assistant.
Assist in cleaning/organizing toys in the TFC visit room daily, and treatment rooms/vehicles.
Fill agency vehicles with gas once per week.
All other projects and duties as appropriate and assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities:
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to carry out responsibilities with compassion, acceptance, and patience.
Motivated to learn, takes initiative and asks questions, and is detailed oriented.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Education / Experience:
Must be a current post-secondary education student in a human service-related field seeking experience in community. mental health and substance use services.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Must be able to traverse facility and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.
Must be able to kneel, sit, stand, crawl, push and pull to assist and teach children throughout the day.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
