Description:
The Senior Manager of Operations is responsible for day-to-day oversight of the Inventory, Order pulling and Transportation teams to ensure daily, weekly and monthly goals are achieved. This position requires a problem solver that can identify and address root cause issues, while engaging the teams for input along the way. Additionally, this position provides strategic planning and analytical support to the transportation team, finding efficiencies and maximizing internal fleet utilization. The Senior Manager of Operations will assist the Director of Operations with future planning and special projects throughout the year, including a biannual inventory review and annual food safety audits. This position will also develop and implement a full safety plan with a focus on staff and food safety, ensuring adequate training and learning opportunities.

Description:
The Senior Manager of Operations is responsible for day-to-day oversight of the Inventory, Order pulling and Transportation teams to ensure daily, weekly and monthly goals are achieved. Essential Functions:
Manage Food and Warehouse Safety - 25%
- Ensure all food safety standards are met across the warehouse.
- Regular safety briefings, safety standards, and safety checks across all warehouse staff.
- Provide and track regular staff trainings on equipment, ERP systems and SOPs.
- Ensure Inventory and Pulling teams are meeting their goals and are held accountable for KPls.
- Root cause any issues or challenges that come up within Inventory, Pulling and Transportation.
- Optimization of transportation fleet for all deliveries, transfers, and pickups by maximizing internal utilization and through third parties as needed.
- Reporting out of Inventory, Pulling, and Transportation performance to Managing Director of Operations and Ops Leadership.
- Ensure collaboration across all Operations managers and teams.
- Daily Warehouse inspections to identify any potential inventory issues. (E.g., Old orders, returns, left behind pallets in the building).
- Participation and reporting out in weekly Inventory meetings.
- Help to create and refine SOPs for Operations processes.
- Look 6 months to 1 year ahead to prepare Operations for any challenges or strategic shifts within the organization.
- Design, develop, and execute operational procedures for all activities happening from the warehouse including food inventory, order pulling, and distribution of food to partners and sites.
- Ensure food is received and distributed from external vendors and from other food bank warehouses in an efficient manner to eliminate stock outs, delays in order fulfillment, box building, and meeting delivery windows.
- Identify the root causes of product losses and takes corrective action.
- Promote team environment and work collaboratively to achieve team goals.
- Ensure compliance with all government regulated programs (e.g., TEFAP).
- Assist the Managing Director of Operations with any special projects as needed.
- Complete any invoicing, expensing, and other tasks to ensure a smooth functioning of warehouse operations.
- Ensure all fleet and equipment in the warehouse is maintained and kept in good condition for use.
- Identify any areas of improvement in any operations processes and work with Managing Director of Operations to plan and execute continuous improvement.
- Provide regular coaching and mentoring to developing staff.
- Develop and execute training schedule to ensure KPls are met.
- Appraise performance of direct reports and look for growth opportunities.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies.
- Establish and accomplish warehouse operations human resource objectives including.
- recruiting, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and development of staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- College degree preferred.
- Must have a minimum of five years-experience with Warehousing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Distribution, and Inventory Systems.
- Possess strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and manage multiple priorities and deadline oriented.
- Possess excellent written, verbal communication skills, and mathematical skills.
- Strong computer system skills; excel skills and data management.

- Strong proficiency in inventory or data warehousing software.
