Salary: This professional position follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule, starting at Bachelor's, Step 1 - $53,778 for the 24/25 SY
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 190 days/year
Job Goal: To provide training and consultative support to Intermediate Units, CAIU staff, and/or member school district personnel focused on implementing Positive Behavior Supports (PBIS) within a Multi-Tiered System of Support.
Knowledge and Requirements:
- The candidate must have a Level II Certification and at least five years of teaching experience. Special Education certification, Instructional Coaching, and experience with various instructional technologies are also highly preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of evidence-based practices within the MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) framework, focusing on behavioral support for curriculum, instruction, intervention, and assessment across all tiers. Experience supporting students and teachers in Emotional Support and Autism Support classrooms is desired.
- Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), implementation science, and evidence-based practices are also desired.
- The candidate should have experience working with and engaging adult learners, communicating and supporting evidence-based practices for behavior, using data to drive decision-making, using evidence-based strategies and formative assessment practices, and supporting teachers and school leaders in deepening knowledge and teachers' pedagogy.
- The successful candidate will be expected to support the implementation of a PBIS within an MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) framework by providing training and consultative support to school teams in the IU 15 region.
- The consultant may be asked to support other initiatives and projects funded by Federal and State funds.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Maintain current certification and training in new IU initiatives with the intent and ability to provide training to districts.
2. Provide support to local districts regarding PDE initiatives.
3. Research and maintain current knowledge of new and emerging educational techniques.
4. Maintain a knowledge base of current theories and practices in the field by attending pertinent Professional Development/continuing education programs, networking with professional colleagues, and reading relevant professional literature.
5. Attend staff meetings as assigned.
6. Complete all required reports and records within established timelines as required by Federal and State regulations and adhere to all CAIU policies and procedures.
7. Assist school teams in monitoring student progress through the collection and interpretation of student and classroom data.
8. Work with stakeholders to build capacity within their local educational entities.
9. Work with the Program Supervisor to plan and implement program operations.
10. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or designee.
11. Assume any other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or his/her designee.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred.
2. Active, valid PA Instructional II, Educational Specialist, or Administrative Certificate
3. Unique professional experiences including at least five (5) years successful experience working in an educational environment.
4. Strong verbal and written language skills.
5. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to provide training and consultation to clients.
7. Ability to build rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders.
8. Proficient to Excellent computer and technology skills.
Salary : $53,778 - $83,857
