What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pm Dish Washer position at Capital City Club?
- Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Clean dishes, utensils, glassware, and cookware
- Wash kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, refrigerators, and food preparation areas
- Ensure that all kitchen surfaces (countertops, floors, walls) are cleaned and sanitized regularly
- Clean and sanitize trash bins and ensure proper disposal of waste
- Dishwashing:
- Operate dishwashing machines, scrub pots and pans, and ensure all dishes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
- Organize dishes and utensils after they’ve been washed, ensuring they are stored properly
- Storage and Inventory:
- Help organize and maintain food storage areas (refrigerators, freezers, dry storage)
- Assist with inventory control by noting supplies used and helping reorder items
- Keep track of cleaning supplies and ensure they are stocked
- Assisting the Kitchen Staff:
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation by cleaning, peeling, chopping, or prepping ingredients
- Help with organizing and setting up workstations for food preparation
- Maintaining Kitchen Equipment:
- Assist in ensuring that all kitchen equipment is functioning properly
- Report any malfunctioning equipment to the kitchen manager or supervisor
- Safety and Health Compliance:
- Follow safety and hygiene guidelines to prevent contamination or accidents
- Maintain proper handling of cleaning chemicals and ensure their safe storage
- Ensure the kitchen meets local health department regulations
- Cleaning Restrooms and Other Common Areas (if required):
- In some cases, stewards may be responsible for cleaning restrooms, hallways, and other common areas of the restaurant or hotel
