Job Title: Regional Reporter
Location: New Orleans
The Times-Picayune and The Advocate seek a staff writer focused on daily and enterprise coverage of regional issues of importance to Louisiana. The regional reporter will focus on social/cultural stories across the state, in parishes big and small, with the potential to cover some stories with implications across the South that are playing out in Louisiana. A successful candidate will also be interested in writing, coaching and enterprise editing, including the prospect of launching a digital newsletter that showcases the best enterprise journalism from across our newsrooms.
Job Skills & Qualifications Required:
A focus on producing accurate and factual stories; knowledge of AP style- Experience as a reporter
- Strong writing skills
- Experience with new platforms, such as newsletters, to create and distribute our journalism
- Proficiency with computers and other office equipment
