Market Operations Assistant (Seasonal) Downtown BoiseHourly Pay: $14-$15 per hour
Hours: Saturdays, 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM (hours may vary, including opening and closing shifts. Shifts will start at different times)Position Summary:Capital City Public Market is seeking a Market Operations Assistant to support the setup, operation, and takedown of the market on Saturdays. This role requires a dependable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and punctual
- Strong attention to quality control and problem-solving
- Positive attitude and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally
- Self-directed with innovative thinking and initiative
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Setup & Takedown: Move and set up market equipment, including barricades, canopies, banners, tables, chairs, and signage.
- Trash & Recycling: Manage the collection and proper disposal of trash and recycling.
- Vendor & Customer Assistance: Help vendors with booth setup/takedown and respond promptly to customer and vendor needs.
- Safety & Security: Observe safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and use equipment properly.
- Traffic & Market Flow: Maintain familiarity with the market layout and assist with traffic direction when needed.
- Customer Counts & Surveys: Conduct customer counts and engage with the public for market surveys.
- General Operations Support: Respond to service calls, assist with market-related tasks, and support the Market Operations Manager as needed.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand, walk, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, and lift heavy objects.
- Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, wet, or humid environments).
- Noise levels are moderate but can vary depending on market activity.
