Trucking Dispatch Supervisor

Job Overview:

The Dispatch Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the trucking dispatch team, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods while optimizing routes and managing driver schedules. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to coordinate logistics and maintain a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor dispatch staff, providing training and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to company policies.
• Route Planning: Develop and implement efficient routing plans for drivers to minimize delays and maximize productivity.
• Scheduling: Manage and oversee the scheduling of drivers, ensuring adequate coverage for all routes and adherence to hours-of-service regulations.
• Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, and other departments, facilitating clear communication and resolving any issues that arise.
• Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to dispatch operations, such as on-time delivery rates, driver performance, and customer satisfaction.
• Problem Solving: Address and resolve any logistical challenges or emergencies that arise during the course of operations.
• Compliance: Ensure that all operations comply with industry regulations and safety standards, including DOT regulations.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on dispatch activities, performance metrics, and areas for improvement to management.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English and Spanish) not reqiuired but highly desirable.
• Proven experience in a dispatch or logistics role, preferably within the construction or transportation industry.
• Familiarity with operations, and GPS tracking systems is highly valued.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and clients.
• Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of freight operations and transportation planning principles is a plus.
