Position Summary:

The Real Estate Paralegal will play a critical role in navigating the complex legal landscape of real estate investment. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the quality and efficiency of legal services provided by external counsel, ensuring that all legal matters are handled with the highest level of expertise and diligence. The role demands a strong foundation in real estate law, coupled with the ability to manage multiple legal projects and maintain effective relationships with outside attorneys.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary liaison between Capital Fund 1 and outside legal teams, facilitating clear communication and effective resolution of legal issues.
• Oversee and manage all legal aspects of the business, including but not limited to bankruptcies, lawsuits, subpoenas, title insurance claims, commercial real estate documentation, development agreements, and evictions.
• Evaluate and ensure the quality of work provided by external legal counsel, maintaining high standards of legal support for the company.
• Develop and implement strategies for efficient management of legal cases, including reasonable estimation of hours and costs.
• Collaborate with the legal team to offer specialized guidance on real estate law, facilitating a seamless understanding of industry intricacies and safeguarding the company’s interests.
• Keep Capital Fund 1 informed of updates in real estate law and regulatory requirements, working in tandem with outside legal teams to ensure Capital Fund 1 maintains compliance and proactively addresses potential legal challenges.
• Participate in strategic planning and risk management discussions, offering legal perspectives that inform business decisions.

Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or related field preferred.
• Paralegal certification preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate law, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience in short-term lending and investment property law.
• Proven track record of managing legal projects and external counsel.
• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
