Job Title : Loan Processor Department : Loan Origination FLSA Status : Nonexempt Summary The Loan Processor works with prospective clients to guide them through the process of completing their application for a loan at Capital Good Fund.
The Loan Processor reviews reports with an application queue and ensures that applications are processed correctly in a timely manner, including evaluation and assessment of both client documentation and data.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be included as assigned. Process applications for clients that are applying for a loan, online or over the phone Evaluate applicant information and documents thoroughly and in detail for compliance and accuracy Provide professional and courteous customer service over the phone, in person or via email Actively participate in the daily sorting and processing of client email responses for the Processing team, including but not limited to redirected voicemails and faxes Guide applicants through the process, including advising on submitting proper documentation and how to use tools for banking, payroll or ID verification Report on various aspects of lending processes, data and workflow as needed Connect clients with our Financial Coaching program and other community resources when appropriate Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish Able to empathize with people of different backgrounds Be process-oriented and have a strong attention to detail Able to work independently and be a self-starter Responsible and proactive in addressing and solving issues Experience with Google Suite Tech Savvy;
can troubleshoot basic computer / internet issues and can quickly learn online processes Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Experience in, or understanding of, financial services and consumer credit Experience working in low-income / distressed communities Be familiar with CRM software such as Salesforce and / or loan servicing origination technology Experience reviewing or analyzing financial documents such as bank statements or proof of income Experience in the nonprofit sector Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Any offer of employment is contingent upon completion of a background check.
