• Capital One’s Card Decisioning team is responsible to enable our business tomanage risk and drive business value across the customer lifecycle byproviding real-time, accurate , secure and AI powered decision-makingsolutions for customer transactions, fraud detection, alerts, credit inquiriesand applications across card, lending and banking products.In this role, you will work with our decisioning platform team to providearchitectural guidance and technical leadership to help build a destinationplatform for capital one. You will be a thought leader in this space to ensurewe are building a world class platform that is scalable, resilient, multi-tenant and can support a variety of use cases.You will work with other Distinguished Engineers to detail out high leveldesigns and help Software engineers develop and engineer the products asenvisioned . • Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 7 years of experience as hands on full stack technologist
• At least 5 years of professional experience coding in commonly used languages like Java, Python, Go, JavaScriptTypeScript, Swift, etc.
• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, enterprise architecture, solution architecture or data architecture
• At least 3 years of experience in cloud native technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)##
• Preferred Qualifications :
• Masters Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 10 years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support
• 8 years of experience in designing large scale and resilient applications
• 3 years of experience with solutioning a large scale platform
• Familiarity with Security engineering and architecture, cloud and software-defined networking, site reliability engineering

Please note that this salary information is solely forcandidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers tothe amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salariesfor part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number ofhours to be regularly worked.Chicago, IL : $239,900 - $273,800 for Distinguished Engineer McLean, VA : $263,900 - $301,200 for Distinguished Engineer Richmond, VA : $239,900 - $273,800 for Distinguished Engineer Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay rangeassociated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offeredto any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in thecandidate’s offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation,which may include cash bonus(es) andor long term incentives (LTI).
