CPC Rocky Mountain Region is a heavy highway and civil construction company in Colorado. We are recruiting for an experienced Construction Project Superintendent for work in highway, utility and excavation projects throughout the state. This position plays a key role in the organization and implementation of a project from start to finish and will consist of the oversight of one or more projects. This position will interact closely with Project Managers, Field Foreman, Field Personnel, and Subcontractors.
Position Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce adherence to the highest standards for safety, quality, compliance, and productivity in the workplace.
- Perform duties in compliance with OSHA and MSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures. Assure all safety policies are followed on the project, including subcontractors and suppliers.
- Participate in screening and recommending hiring of subordinate field personnel. Evaluate all new hires to determine if adequate job performance exists.
- Supervises, directs, coaches, trains, and mentors the project team, including direct and indirect reports.
- Develop and maintain client, subcontractor and vendor relationships and provide alternative methods to increase field production and efficiency.
- Interpret details of project plan(s), specifications, schedules, and bid proposal(s).
- Attend meetings and functions as necessary to fulfill duties of position.
- Coordinate materials and equipment deliveries with vendors and suppliers.
- Manage Equipment fleet to ensure maximum utilization and uptime. Track hours and service intervals, maintain daily maintenance and equipment cleanliness.
- Coordinate Field survey/engineering/GPS file needs with the Project Manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with equipment, materials, and methods used in the construction industry; specifically storm sewer and earthwork construction.
- Ability to communicate with others to convey information effectively.
- Ability to keep organized records and to prepare work and time reports accurately.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within established timelines.
- Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices.
- Must be accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
- Must be able to perform physical activities that may require climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, and handling of materials, equipment, and tools.
- Must be willing and able to travel and work out of town on various jobsites.
- Must have a valid driver license.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening.
