Project Manager
Capital Paving & Construction is seeking experienced Civil Construction Project Managers to work on highway, road, and heavy civil projects in Colorado. The Project Manager will be project assigned and could be responsible for multiple projects throughout the season. Travel away from base location might be necessary.
JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver project on time and within budget as leader of the Project Team.
- Help estimate and execute project from bid stage to construction.
- Partner with Safety Director and Superintendent to ensure company and client safety expectations are exceeded on site.
- Review contracts to ensure complete project compliance with policies, regulations, laws and permits.
- Coordinate work methods with Superintendent and Field Engineer to ensure all operations are conducted in alignment with company procedures and best management practices.
- Adjust and troubleshoot work methods as needed to maintain project safety, quality, and schedule.
- Oversee all procurement for project and the primary person for major purchases.
- Verify and edit all major project documentation such as schedule, submittals, RFI’s, change orders, subcontracts, etc.
- Lead company liaison with client and responsible for exceptional client satisfaction.
- Develop and mentor field engineers, superintendents, and foreman.
- Review, update, and approve project budgets, invoices, and pay estimates.
- Coordinate company resources such as equipment and personnel between projects.
- Estimate and execute contract change orders with both client, vendors, and necessary subcontracts.
- Estimate and calculate take offs for upcoming projects and change orders.
- Complete required preconstruction paperwork.
- Organize and oversee construction processes and ensure they are completed on time and on budget.
- Provide schedules and update as jobs progress.
- Have thorough and complete understanding of the contract, subcontracts, plans, and specifications.
- Correspond daily or as needed with clients.
- Complete paperwork throughout jobs such as coding/approval of invoices, financial projections, SharePoint uploads, purchase orders, change orders, etc.
- Coordinate/schedule subs and material or coordinate with foreman/superintendent to schedule as needed.
- Oversee safety precautions throughout the project.
- Assist with final paperwork and closing out projects.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Prefer 3 to 5 years of experience in the heavy civil construction field.
- Strong knowledge and experience in transportation project management and engineering in the fields related to highways, roadways, and heavy civil construction.
- Skill in operating personal computer and programs such as spreadsheets, database, and word processing software.
- Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel preferred.

Salary : $85,000 - $120,000
