What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Scheduler position at Capital Region Ambulatory Surgery Center?
Capital Region Ambulatory Surgery Center (CRASC), located at the Bone and Joint Center of Albany, is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to join our team. The scheduler will work full time days (no nights, weekends, holidays).
The Scheduler will be responsible for scheduling all out-patient surgical procedures for two ambulatory surgery centers, communicating equipment, staffing and ancillary needs. The scheduler will manage the daily schedule, cancellations, and physician block time.
The Scheduler will also be responsible to cover the check-in desk on an as needed basis.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Surgical Scheduler in an ambulatory surgery facility, hospital, or doctor’s office
- Above average comprehension of medical terminology (Orthopedics a plus) and insurance verification
- Experience using scheduling software as well as MS tools
- Demonstrated experience in prioritizing in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to function in a team oriented atmosphere and be flexible and adaptable to frequent changes
