What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Capital Sanitary Supply?
We have a great opportunity for a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Capital Sanitary's Des Moines office, working Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a one hour unpaid lunch.
Duties for this position will include:
- Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices
- Process check requests and expense reports on a regular basis
- Perform monthly reconciliations
- Maintain a large number of vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Perform data entry associated with accounts payable
- Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies
- Address and respond to vendor inquiries
- Back up to customer service - answering phones and order entry
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree in Accounting preferred
- 1-3 years accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills
- Good organization, time management, and mathematical skills
- Proficient in MS Office
- Dependable and reliable
