Accounting Manager

Our well-known client in the greater Boston, MA area has engaged our firm to assist with this Accounting Manager search. This role is Hybrid/3 days a week in the office. This company is well established/well known and a great place to work.

Accounting Manager

This role will oversee financial reporting, managing the general ledger reconciliations, support budgeting and forecasting, and preparation of financial statements. Additional responsibilities include management of staff, lead cross-training, and provide guidance on reporting matters.

Job Duties

• Perform month-end general ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate monthly revenue recognition and reporting of complex accruals and associated expenses.
• Prepare monthly and quarter-end financial statements for assigned areas; ensure accuracy in all reporting/compliance with GAAP.
• Participate in annual audits and quarterly reviews by providing support for accounting treatment, including identifying and resolving outstanding issues.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements to streamline procedures.
• Supervision of accounting staff and cross-training.
  
  

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience with accounting, financial/SEC reporting, and working with external auditors.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; will interact with leadership regularly
• Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze and interpret accounting information
• Knowledge of compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley, including identifying and documenting key controls and processes, assisting with remediation activities, and supporting related internal controls testing
• BA or BS degree in accounting preferred
• Big4/national public accounting firm experience highly desired
