Senior Accountant

Our well known client in the greater Boston, MA area has engaged our firm to assist with this Senior Accountant search. This role is Hybrid/3 days a week in the office. This company is well established/well known and a great place to work.

Senior Accountant

This role will focus on financial reporting, preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and reconciling accounts. Additionally, you will assist in audit preparation, resolving issues, and working with the year-end auditors.

Job Duties

• Perform month-end general ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate monthly revenue recognition and reporting of complex accruals and associated expenses.
• Prepare monthly and quarter-end financial statements for assigned areas; ensure accuracy in all reporting/compliance with GAAP.
• Participate in annual audits and quarterly reviews by providing support for accounting treatment, including identifying and resolving outstanding issues.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements to streamline procedures.
  
  

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience with accounting, financial/SEC reporting, and working with external auditors.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; will interact with leadership regularly
• Strong analytical skills; ability to analyze and interpret accounting information
• Knowledge of compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley, including identifying and documenting key controls and processes, assisting with remediation activities, and supporting related internal controls testing
• BA or BS degree in accounting preferred
• Big4/national public accounting firm experience highly desired
