We are partnering with a fast-growing and highly successful Construction Company in Noblesville, IN to find an experienced Construction Accountant. The Construction Accountant will oversee the financial health of multiple construction projects, manage supplier contracts, track production costs, and ensure accuracy in all financial reporting. Working closely with project managers and leadership, this role plays a critical part in optimizing project budgets, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and refine accounting procedures to support project success.
- Oversee inventory management in QuickBooks and Builder Trend.
- Collaborate with project managers to create and monitor job budgets, specifically for concrete foundation and framing projects.
- Handle accounting tasks throughout the full project lifecycle, including cash flow management and purchase order approvals.
- Analyze transactions and update budgets with unforeseen costs.
- Maintain detailed financial records for audits and tax compliance.
- Prepare financial reports, cost analyses, and monitor budget variances.
- Report financial risks, discrepancies, and insights to senior management.
- Research market trends and pricing fluctuations in construction materials.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Support monthly financial closings and statements in collaboration with the CPA.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in private or public accounting.
- Solid understanding of construction cost accounting and financial procedures.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Builder Trend.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Nice to Have:
- Certification in Construction Accounting (preferred).
