We are in search of a committed and passionate Project Coordinator to become a valued member of our construction team. In this role, you will assume a pivotal position in the field, actively contributing to the planning, coordination, and successful execution of construction projects, guiding them from their initial stages to final completion. As a Project Coordinator at CAPITAN Construction, your primary responsibility is to uphold workmanship and safety standards through diligent inspection of ongoing and completed projects. Your role also encompasses ensuring strict adherence to safety, quality, and legal prerequisites across all projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform a variety of routine and specialized construction tasks, including troubleshooting, making minor and major repairs, and new construction, including but not limited to any or all of the following:
- Assist senior project managers in developing project plans, budgets, and schedules for construction projects.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications and requirements are met.
- Coordinate project activities, including procurement of materials, and field work.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect construction progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in managing project documentation, including contracts, permits, change orders, and RFIs.
- Participate in project meetings, prepare meeting agendas, and document meeting minutes.
- Assist in preparing and presenting project updates to stakeholders, clients, and senior management.
- Assist in managing subcontractor relationships and overseeing their work quality and performance.
- Identify and communicate potential risks, issues, and deviations from project plans, proposing effective solutions.
- Support the resolution of construction-related challenges and conflicts as they arise.
- Learn and apply construction project management software/tools to enhance project efficiency and accuracy.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement efforts to optimize construction project workflows.

REQUIREMENTS:
Able to manage projects and develop and implement business processes to meet identified needs within agreed parameters of cost, time, and quality
- Understanding of construction safety protocols and best practices.
- Familiarity with construction processes, methodologies, and industry regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Familiarity with formal processes such as compensation negotiations and disciplinary procedures
- Strong communication skills in speaking and writing, demonstrating proper grammar and clear calculation of ideas
- Detail-oriented mindset and commitment to maintaining accurate project documentation.
- Thorough knowledge of all trades
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
Essential: a minimum of 3 years of related experience in residential construction, including scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases. Ability to manage individuals and groups, optimize performance, and provide effective feedback throughout the performance management cycle. The Project Coordinator is responsible for a multitude of responsibilities. A successful candidate requires good mechanical aptitude and the ability and desire to learn.
Salary:
The range for this role considers a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certification, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are based on the facts and circumstances of each case. The current range is a reasonable estimate.
