Job Description:
The host is the first and last person a member will interact with within the restaurant. Therefore, it is imperative that the first and last impression a guest will have is positive, gracious and professional. Most importantly, you will be supervising and coordinating the flow of the dining room and/or the grill. Constant communication with the servers, bussers, and managers is key to a successful service.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills and fluency (both written and verbal) in English is required.
- Must be physically able to stand/walk for extended periods of time during your shift.
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Must be able to maintain tact and remain calm under pressure
- Professional and polished appearance and demeanor
- Must be dedicated to outstanding guest service, with a drive to exceed our members' expectations
Responsibilities:
- Enthusiastically welcome every guest at the door
- Clearly communicate with all members and guests
- Go above and beyond to accommodate members' special requests and create great memories
- Oversee daily restaurant reservations, pre-assign seating where necessary
- Communicate with management regarding special orders and special requests
- Escort guests to tables and assist in seating at tables; present menus and extend pleasantries
- Work as a team, assist with all members' and employees' needs and inquiries
- Always maintain positive member relations
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
- Assist with bussing and resetting tables, folding napkins and stuffing silverware
- Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities and reservations, events, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, and dress code of the restaurant
- Perform all other job-related duties as requested
Work Conditions:
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for the majority of the shift
- The employee frequently is required to walk and move about the restaurant
Preferred:
- At least 1 year of host person experience in a high-volume and/or upscale dining environment
Qualifications
