What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Sub/Floater Instructor position at Capitol Language Services?
We are looking for a high energy individual who can support our growing after care program. We have multiple sites in the NW area of Washington, DC and need a person who can reliably rotate to different programs during the week. Reliable transportation is key.
This is a fun, fast-paced work environment and an opportunity to make a daily positive impact in the lives of the children who attend our programs.

The Ideal Candidate will:
- Have experience working with children in a school, camp, or daycare environment. At least 1 year is preferred.
- Have the availability to work 2-6 pm, Monday – Friday. No partial weeks. Please note that the first hour is to commute to the assigned location.
- Possess the ability to guide children with their interests, monitor clubs, and other general activities.
- Must be willing to receive assignment at 1:30 pm daily.
- Be on time at the program at 3 pm.
Competitive Pay:
- Pay Starts at $20/hr.
- Bonus available for staying till June 2024.

Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children or genuine interest in learning how to work in a school setting.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including booster(s).
- Basic computer knowledge is required.
- Familiar with Excel (read students’ schedules and daily activities).
- Legal US work authorization.
- Previous experience related to this position is preferred.
- Good references from previous employers.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Be ready to receive an assignment at 1:30 pm and commute to the assigned location. Responsibilities include leading a group of children of a specific grade, keeping track of attendance, and communicating any behavior issues to the coordinator and program director. Afterschool instructors may also be assigned to teach activities/clubs such as arts and crafts, homework, playground, etc. Please attach your resume. Applications without a resume will be discarded.
