What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Director position at Capitol Mechanical?
This position is responsible to oversee financial operations for the company. Assist with day-to-day accounting and payroll functions. Strong interaction with operations. Helps implement and improve procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Generate financial reports to support the President in projections, growth, and operational efficiency.
- Provide support to financial department in all responsibilities, assisting with day-to-day financial operations such as 401(k), payments, reports, and banking.
- Lead the ESOP education initiatives and related functions.
- Oversee the IT department and manage overall IT contractors or personnel
- Collaborate with HR representatives to address HR issues and assist with Insurance, 401(k), and ESOP matters.
- Assist hiring managers working collaboratively on recruitment efforts and participate in job fairs.
- Maintain regular communication with the Sales team regarding projects and set sales goals.
- Display a high level of integrity by maintaining the confidence of proprietary information. Protect all tangible and intangible company assets including proprietary software and databases
Additional Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with organizing company outings and special events.
- Conduct special projects and assist other departments, as assigned.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field; or equivalent work experience
- 5-7 years’ experience in accounting with progressive responsibilities
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication, portraying a high degree of professionalism
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet time sensitive deadlines and organize workload with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and provide strategic insight and analysis to solve problems
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Master’s degree in accounting
- Previous experience working in the construction industry
