CREC Preschool at Progress Drive seeks a Behavior Interventionist for the 2025 - 2026 School Year, to support the social, emotional, and behavioral development of preschool-aged children by implementing behavior support strategies and individualized intervention plans. The role works in collaboration with teachers, specialists, and families to promote positive behavior and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and strategies under the direction of Administrator.
Play an essential role in our Early Intervention Planning (EIP) Team, provide group and individual instruction as needed, and provide professional development to staff.
Provide one-on-one or small group behavior support to children with identified behavioral or emotional needs.
Model and reinforce appropriate behaviors, social skills, and self-regulation strategies.
Observe, document, and collect data on student behaviors to support progress monitoring and plan updates.
Support children in developing Executive Functioning skills such as, problem-solving, peer relationships, and conflict resolution.
Collaborate with teachers and support staff to maintain consistency across instructional and behavioral supports.
Provide crisis prevention and intervention strategies, including de-escalation techniques and safety protocols.
Support classroom engagement by redirecting behaviors and promoting task participation.
Maintain a calm, supportive presence in the classroom or other settings where students need additional behavioral assistance.
Ensure student safety during all activities, transitions, and emergency situations.
Communicate respectfully and professionally with students, families, and staff, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
PMT Training and Paperwork. Monthly data reporting.
Experience working in an educational setting preferred. This position requires patience, flexibility and strong organizational skills. The preferred candidate must have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, staff and parents. The position requires an undergraduate degree and experience with a diverse student population. Social work or counseling experience preferred.
