SUMMARY: Responsible for installation and removal of molds. Performs trouble shooting and molding machine start ups to prescribed production standards. Performs inspections and compares products to Quality Control Standards by performing the following duties.
Overnight 7pm-7am-2-2-3 rotating schedule including every other weekend
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
· Verify product quality from the onset of a production run by following the first piece inspection procedure on all new start-ups. Responsible for trouble shooting machine problems as identified by the machine inspector/operator and adjusting machine parameters.
· Responsible for the safe and efficient installation and removal of full molds and plates in the injection molding machinery.· Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of molding machinery, electronic scales and various measuring instruments.· Responsible for the visual and dimensional inspection of parts as well as updating logs in order to ensure quality of the finished product.
· Responsible for various process improvement procedures including purging cylinders, reheating machines and eliminating scrap.
· Responsible to repair mold water leaks and inspect mold electrical connections to insure proper function and safe operation.
· Occasionally required to run Molding Experimental Orders and distribute product samples per instructions.
· Maintain accurate daily shift change logs.
· Required to become cleanroom certified and maintain certification.
· Responsible for productivity and efficiency of molding production by maintaining proper machine cycle, part containment and cavitation.
· Responsible for entering Mattec data including startup scrap and downtime.
· Originate, support and maintain all 5S activities throughout the molding floor.
· Responsible to fill in as molding operators, material handlers, perform any other capable and reasonable function at the request of supervision.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Certificate or degree from college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must successfully complete any/all in-house molding training certifications.
