Job Summary: Caplugs, a leader in the product protection industry, is seeking a highly skilled and service-oriented Workplace Technology Specialist to join our IT team. This role is pivotal in providing on-site desktop support and managing the digital workplace infrastructure for our plastics manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop support, project management, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Desktop Support (70%):
- Provide comprehensive on-site support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for Microsoft desktop OS.
- Manage and support label printers in the factory (primarily Zebra).
- Manage and support of mobile devices including but not limited to iOS and Android.
- Coordinate with the outsourced help desk (vNet), other managed desktop support service providers and manage tickets through Connectwise ticketing system.
- Ensure timely and effective resolution of technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Digital Workplace Management (30%):
- Work with and understand MS Teams, SharePoint, and File Shares.
- Lead the transition of file server (file shares) and user-based OneDrive accounts to a Teams/SharePoint structure.
- Provide support and training to users on digital workplace tools and best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of digital workplace strategies.

Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in desktop support and IT infrastructure management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft desktop OS, MS Teams, SharePoint, and Connectwise ticketing system.
- Experience with label printers (Zebra) and other PC/laptop peripherals.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead IT projects.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of digital workplace trends and best practices.
Working Conditions:
- On-site role with occasional remote work flexibility.
- May require occasional travel to other company locations.
