CAPP, a leading supplier of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing parts & equipment, is looking for a hardworking leader to help manage our purchasing team.
What You’ll Do:
- The right candidate will oversee the Purchasing Department and all sourcing for customer and inventory needs
- Responsible to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, seek best possible contracts and find most profitable suppliers and vendors
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks
- Analyze data; use data to drive decision making, forecast, and work within budgets
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
- Directly manages two or more employees in the Purchasing Department
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Other duties may be assigned
Who You Are:
- 8 years of relevant experience
- Prior experience managing $60m in spend per year
- Proven experience with sourcing, negotiation and vendor management
- Ability to gather and analyze data
- Possess strong leadership skills and networking capabilities
- Ability to effectively present information, respond and draw valid conclusions
- Displays regular interest in market dynamics along with business sense
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration preferred
- Previous experience in HVAC or related industry preferred
- Proficiency with Google Suite
