Job Description
The Texas General Land Office is seeking a Project Manager III (Project Manager) within the Community Development & Revitalization (CDR) Department of the agency.
Performs complex (journey-level) project management work for the Texas General Land Office (GLO) Community Development & Revitalization (CDR) - Operations division. Work involves coordinating the planning and initiation of projects that vary in size, scope, level of complexity and completion. Monitor grant related projects, provides communication on project status, and leads projects and coordinates the initiation, authorization, and commitment to each project. Assigns duties and responsibilities to other staff in the coordination of project work. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use on initiative and independent judgement.
Performs other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned may include but are not limited to actively participating and / or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and / or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and / or location.

What Your Contributions to the GLO Will be :
- Provides Community Development & Revitalization (CDR) - Operations the development, management, and evaluation of new and ongoing projects at various stages in the project lifecycle utilizing accepted practices. Provides special project support to the Manager of Special Projects, and oversees projects related (varying degrees of length and complexity) to CDBG-Disaster Recovery and CDBG-Mitigation grants. Leads projects and coordinates the initiation, authorization, and commitment to each project.
Goes inside a program area to learn the particulars related to a special project assignment, communicates and cross-trains the Special Projects team in the given project, and then oversees the project. Then coordinates with the program area to keep them updated with project status and goals.

This position requires the employee to primarily perform sedentary office work; however, mobility (moving around the worksite) is routinely required to carry out some duties. This position requires extensive computer, telephone and client / customer contact and communication. It requires the ability to move and position oneself as needed for filing and similar routine office duties. The job also requires normal cognitive abilities requiring the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. It requires the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions. Ability to read printed materials and computer screens. The individual must be able to move and transport records, documents, boxes, and all related information and materials, weighing up to 20 pounds when required.
