Job Description
The Texas General Land Office is seeking a Project Manager III within the Construction Services Department of the agency.
Performs complex (journey-level) project management work. Work involves coordinating the planning and initiation of projects at various levels of completion; monitoring the progress and schedule of projects; and communicating with project stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties. May assign duties and responsibilities and coordinate the work of project staff. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

What Your Contributions to the GLO Will be :
- Manages, develops, oversees, and evaluates projects using accepted project management methodologies. Initiates projects, obtains authorization and commitment, and demonstrates business need and project feasibility.
- Develops construction project budgets, schedules, work plans, resources requirements, and cost estimates and projections. Monitors and manages construction project quality and cost to ensure that project deliverables are acceptable, fulfill the terms of the project contract or specifications, and are completed within budget.
- Identifies potential project risks and difficulties and designs strategies to mitigate or avoid them. Communicates project methodology and processes to interested groups and team members. Compiles and distributes project information, project status reports, and project budget expenditures.
- Coordinates project activities with other state agencies, governmental jurisdictions, or private sector partners and contractors. Compiles and distributes project information, project status reports, and project budget expenditures.
Reviews and recommends proposals and bids to management. Assists with developing criteria for evaluating programs, proposals, and other pertinent information related to project assignments.

This position requires the employee to primarily perform sedentary office work; however, mobility (moving around the worksite) is routinely required to carry out some duties. This position requires extensive computer, telephone and client / customer contact and communication. It requires the ability to move and position oneself as needed for filing and similar routine office duties. The job also requires normal cognitive abilities requiring the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. It requires the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions. Ability to read printed materials and computer screens. The individual must be able to move and transport records, documents, boxes, and all related information and materials, weighing up to 20 pounds when required.
