Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Hostess to join our team at the new Capriccio's located in Solon, OH. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills and a passion for providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Restaurant hours:

Monday-Thursday 4pm-9pm

Friday & Saturday 4pm-10pm

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly as they enter the restaurant, ensuring a positive first impression.
• Manage the seating chart and coordinate with servers to optimize table turnover and guest flow.
• Handle reservations and walk-in guests efficiently, maintaining an organized waitlist when necessary.
• Provide guests with menus and inform them of daily specials or promotions.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely service.
• Answer phone calls promptly, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette while taking reservations or answering inquiries.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area.
• Help guests with any special requests or concerns, ensuring their needs are met throughout their visit.
• Utilize POS systems for managing reservations and guest information as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a host, hospitality, or food service environments is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
• Familiarity with restaurant operations and guest services is a plus.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
• A positive attitude and willingness to help others are key traits we seek in our candidates.
