About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Production Scheduler / Planner to join our Supply Chain team. Reporting to the Associate Director of Supply Chain, you will play a critical role in ensuring product availability, managing Sales & Operations Planning, overseeing inventory management, and coordinating capacity planning. This position involves overseeing and coordinating the production planning and scheduling process to ensure the timely delivery of Capricor products, supporting our mission to deliver innovative therapies.


Responsibilities:
 
• Develop and implement comprehensive production planning and scheduling strategies to optimize the use of resources and meet production goals.
 • Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of production plans.
 • Monitor and analyze production performance, identifying potential bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions to maintain smooth operations.
 • Utilize advanced planning software and tools to create accurate production schedules and forecasts.
 • Manage inventory levels and ensure the availability of critical materials and components to support uninterrupted production.
 • Coordinate with R&D and product development teams to integrate new products and processes into the production plan.
 • Continuously evaluate and improve planning processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and increase productivity.
 • Prepare and present regular reports and updates on production status, key performance indicators, and any potential risks or issues.
 • Facilitate, compile metrics for, and perform analysis for SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations, and Planning).
 • Help build the forecast and create work orders in ERP to translate customer demand into a feasible production plan.
 • Analyze site capacity requirements, identify mid- to long-term bottlenecks, and discuss corrective action with site management.
 • Manage and maintain safety stocks and planning parameters.
 • Work closely with the scheduler and manufacturing teams to ensure that work orders are completed on time and to plan.
 • Recognize problems, analyze them, and recommend solutions.


Requirements:
 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or another related field is required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
 • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain management, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
 • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office software (Outlook, Teams, Word).
 • Demonstrated expertise in MRP/ERP Planning systems, including the maintenance of all relevant planning parameters (NetSuite/Oracle or similar preferred).
 • Knowledge of business systems and information technology required to run complex supply chain activities.
 • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
 • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
 • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
 • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry is a plus.


Preferred Skills:
 
• APICS certification.
 • Experience with biotech or pharmaceutical production planning processes.


Compensation (USD): $80,000 - $95,000
 
• This role offers a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional development. 

Location Policy:
This position is based at our headquarters in San Diego, California, with flexibility for occasional remote work as needed.


Work Environment / Physical Demands:
 
• Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods.
 • Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively on the phone or in person and complete required paperwork.
 • Work extended or off hours depending on the company’s needs (including weekends and holidays), as required.
