About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our growing team as a Material Handler. The Material Handler will play a critical role in supporting our manufacturing and logistics operations by managing inventory, processing shipments, and ensuring the efficient movement of materials within our facilities. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management & Material Handling:
- Receive all GMP items on an electronic inventory system, verifying count, vendor item number, and expiration date against item specification and purchase order prior to labeling.
- Pick, pack, and process shipments, ensuring accuracy in identification and quantity.
- Perform physical movement of materials using handcarts and coordinate with on-site/offsite warehousing facilities.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderly storage conditions in the warehouse.
- Shipping & Receiving:
- Prepare bills of lading and other shipping documents.
- Physically and systemically receive and issue material requisitions.
- Process material against purchase orders and work orders using an electronic material management system.
- Work with appropriate logistics and manufacturing personnel to resolve/prevent shortages.
- Inventory Audits & Documentation:
- Perform cycle audits and physical inventory counts per schedule.
- Quantify and verify cycle count, reconciling discrepancies and reporting them to the Supervisor.
- Assist in the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Follow work procedures, including complex instructions, regarding duties to be performed.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
- Work independently and complete basic troubleshooting related to material handling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including assembly, materials, logistics, and manufacturing.
- Train other team members as needed and participate in quality activities and employee engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED or local equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in material handling, warehousing, or related field.
- Proficiency in basic mathematics and ability to use hand tools.
- Basic computer skills, including Windows, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
- Team player who takes ownership of responsibilities and contributes to team success.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Knowledge of inventory systems and material management software.
- Familiarity with shipping logistics and documentation.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
- This role requires extended periods of standing and sitting.
- Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to work extended or off-hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $22-$25 per hour
