Culinary Associate Job Description
Summary of Position:
Caprio Cellars is a small boutique winery focusing on Bordeaux style wines. We offer world-class wine with exceptional hospitality in a bright and energetic atmosphere offering seasonal small plates which complement our wine.
The position of a culinary associate is an energetic job for a culinary arts enthusiast. This position would consist assisting in our kitchen with food preparation and cleaning duties. The ideal candidate should be passionate about the wine industry, as well as the culinary world. This position reports to our management team.
Qualifications:
- Good communication skills
- Previous experience with grilling, salad and sandwich preparation, pans and deep frying
- Able to accurately read and communicate orders
- Well organized, shows a sense of urgency; able to track multiple orders and multitask.
- Works well under pressure
- Team player, works productively with others
- Able to take direction accurately and execute tasks.
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Has good time management.
- Has some restaurant experience or a vast interest in the culinary industry.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Has a valid Washington State Food Workers Card.
Key Responsibilities:.
- Participates and assists with special hospitality events that occur at the winery.
- Presents self professionally with a clean uniform and well groomed
- Maintains up to date knowledge of recipes, procedures and plating for all current menu items and special event items
- Prepares grill, char grill, salad, and entrée items to recipe or to accommodate a special order.
- Meets timing standards
- Coordinates orders with others, assists coworkers as needed
- Works cooperatively with front of the house staff to respond to guests needs
- Ensures areas of responsibility are well stocked and ready for guests
- Maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety and food safety throughout the shift
- As required: taking inventory, stocking, cleaning, opening and closing duties, as well as any other duties designated by the management team or Kitchen Leader
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand and move around for at least 4 hours
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30-40lbs on a regular basis and throughout the shift
- Must be able to push and pull equipment of various sizes and weights throughout the shift
- Requires grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, hearing ability and visual acuity
- Ability to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
