POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Mine Engineering Superintendent, the Sr. Long-Range Planning Engineer is accountable for managing long-range projects, designs and plans at Pinto Valley Mine.

- Work primarily with Mine Technical Services, Mine Operations, Mine Maintenance Planning, Mine Maintenance Execution, Dispatch Team, Processing Maintenance, Processing Operations.

PEOPLE REPORTING TO THIS POSITION

- Manage and ensure all employees and contractors are working in compliance with all Pinto Valley Mine and MSHA safety guidelines and procedures
- Ensure all activities are compliant with Company policies and procedures, federal and state regulations as well as local regulatory agencies.
- Participate in all safety programs and initiatives.
- Strong collaboration and communication of plans with various stakeholders.
- Coordinate work planning with Mine Ops and other planning engineers to ensure objectives are being met in the long-range.
- Update LOM plan on annual basis.
- Develop long-term mine development and sequencing strategies.
- Develop mine budgets.
- Plan, budget, communicate, and coordinate to meet goals in a safe and efficient manner.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities to enhance mining plan.
- Maintain strong synchronization between long, mid, and short-range designs.
- Responsible for but not limited to all tasks/duties assigned or required.
Knowledge
- 5 to 10 years of mining experience.
- Mine Engineering or similar degree.
- Knowledge of drill-blast-load-haul open pit mining sequence is preferred.
- Prior experience in a copper operation strongly preferred.
- Experience with MineStar or similar fleet management system.
- Experience with SAP or similar purchasing program.
- Prior exposure to mine planning software (Vulcan, MineSight, Terrain, AcQuire) is preferred.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong project management skills required.
- Quick learner with proactive mindset.
- Proven ability to identify problems and devise solutions.
- Excellent communication, analytical, management and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write English fluently.
- This role is generally 90% office environment and 10% field environment.
- Must have ability to stand and walk for short durations, including walking up and down stairs and across uneven surfaces.
- Must have ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, and squat, occasionally in confined spaces.
