Job Title: Desk Assistant (Student Position)
Reports To: Assistant Director of Operations
Location: First Year Residence Halls at Marshall University in Huntington, WV
Compensation: $10.50 - $11.00 per hour for up to 25 hours per week.
FLSA Status: Student Non-Exempt

Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM), with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, is a group of student housing professionals focused exclusively on the management of housing communities owned by non-profits and/or highly affiliated with a university.
Summary:
The Desk Assistant is responsible for assisting operations and front desk staff in completing various administrative tasks while working at the front desk area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintaining confidentiality in all matters concerning student/staff discipline and any other matters.
- Remaining behind the front desk to monitor all building access.
- Answering the desk phones professionally.
- Distributing resident packages.
- Assisting residents with work order requests.
- Checking in/out loan keys to residents.
- Adhering to employment schedule and dress code.
- Enforcing policies / procedures of the residence halls and the university (including campus, state and federal regulations).
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Current a student at Marshall University with GPA of 2.4 or higher.
- Availability to work a minimum of 6 hours per week and at least 15 hours over the course of all school breaks during the academic year. (Preference will be given to those applicants who are able to work overnight weekend hours.)
- Knowledge using office equipment (desk computer, phone and copier)
- Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication.
- Possess strong customer service skills.
- Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Overnight hours (12:00am-8:00am) are paid $11.00 per hour.
