HUD Assistant Manager
Duties:
- Oversee the daily operations of residential or commercial properties
- Manage tenant relations, including responding to inquiries and addressing concerns
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance and repairs
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Market available properties and conduct property showings
- Screen potential tenants and manage lease agreements
- Collect rent payments and handle delinquencies
- Prepare financial reports and budgets
- Conduct regular property inspections
Must have HUD & LIHTC experience, a COS and/or TCS certification required. Demonstrated ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Must have excellent computer skills as well as proficiency in the following software programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as knowledge of Real Page operating experience preferred.
Skills:
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software for tracking maintenance requests and work orders
- Strong sales skills to effectively market available properties and attract tenants
- Experience with Yardi or other property management software for managing lease agreements, rent collection, and financial reporting
- Knowledge of Section 8 housing regulations and procedures
- Ability to upsell additional services or amenities to tenants
- Excellent negotiation skills for lease agreements and vendor contracts
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations pertaining to property management
- Proficient in office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Experience in legal administrative tasks related to property management
- Exceptional phone etiquette for effective communication with tenants, vendors, and other stakeholders
