A globally prominent and highly reputable industrial manufacturing company seeks to hire a Manufacturing Process Engineer at their flagship production campus in the greater Grand Rapids, MI area due to their continued growth. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for optimizing various automated production processes. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot automated manufacturing processes, with a focus on robotic applications in paint or similar production environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process efficiency, reduce scrap, and enhance product quality.
- Support the launch and continuous improvement of automated systems, including programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of robotic equipment.
- Assist in the development of standardized work instructions, process documentation, and quality control measures.
- Identify and implement process improvements related to automation, material flow, and production efficiency.
Required Qualifications/Experience:
- AS/BS in technical discipline (engineering, etc.) preferred but not required.
- Experience with industrial automation, robotics, or automated manufacturing processes (paint experience a plus but not required).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for robotic systems and automation equipment.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
