What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR/Payroll Assistant - Hybrid position at Car-Part.com?
Primary Purpose : Provide support to the Human Resources Department with an emphasis on payroll.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities :
1) Provide assistance with all aspects of Payroll, including employees biweekly pay
2) Ensure accuracy of tax payments
3) Complete spreadsheets for payroll accounting entries and tax recap
4) 401(k) processing, including biweekly employee contributions and monthly employer match contributions
5) Process HSA contributions, including biweekly employee contributions and quarterly employer contributions
6) Track paid leave accruals and usage; audits and employee communication.
7) Review and track part time employees hours and maintain holiday / exceptions spreadsheet
8) Provide support for audits, surveys, travel arrangements, benefits, recruiting and related administrative processes
9) Provide HR project support & assistance as needed with facilities, company gatherings, wellness, employee relations activities, running errands, and various project based work
10) Maintain compliance with federal and state posters
11) Maintain high level of confidentiality
12) Communicate effectively with management, coworkers and external customers
13) Attend team meetings
14) Take initiative to learn and expand role
15) Perform other tasks and have such other responsibilities as assigned from time to time
Qualifications :
Education / Certifications Required : Associates degree or equivalent HR experience
Essential Knowledge and Skills Requirements :
Ability to work well as a team member, ability to engage others
Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy
Excellent organizational skills
Must be proactive, anticipate needs, and work independently
Proficient with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
Ability to type 25-30 wpm
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Non Essential but Valued Skills and Experience :
Prior exposure to payroll is a plus
