Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Open Dental is a plus, as well as being Bilingual English and Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take medical documentation and maintain accurate patient records.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging as needed.
- Perform basic dental procedures such as taking X-rays, applying fluoride treatments, and assisting with sealants.
- Manage patient flow and schedule appointments efficiently.
- Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary.
- Provide education to patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to ensure smooth operations within the clinic.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental software such as Open Dental.
- Knowledge of Implant/Surgery dentistry practices is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical documentation.
- Ability to assist in various dental specialties including surgeries and general dentistry.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
- Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
