Summary :
Caracas Construction Corp. is seeking to add a full-time Assistant Bookkeeper to support the ongoing financial needs of the business. The Assistant Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining financial records, ensuring accuracy, providing essential support for financial reporting, and other office duties as assigned. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software. The selected candidate will report to our main facility in Ludlow, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Record and post ongoing business transactions into accounting software.
- Record and post accounts payable invoices and prepare for payment.
- Record and post accounts receivable invoices and collect payment.
- Assist with weekly payroll processing, manage employee records, ensuring timely and accurate compensation.
- Assist with government, union, and certified payroll reporting.
- Assist with month-end close, post journal entries, preparing monthly trial balances, generating balance sheet and income statements.
- Assist with financial reporting to bank and bonding company.
- Assist with year-end tax related documentation with external accountants for tax returns and compliance.
- Assist with fixed asset related duties.
- Assist with insurance related duties.
- Various clerical duties to meet the ongoing needs of the business.
- Filing and sorting mail, receipts, and invoices.
