Fast-paced, high-volume clinic looking for a top skilled Certified Medical Assistant. We are looking for someone to promote the primary value of our practice, "The needs of the patient come first." Develops and maintains strong relationships with referring physicians and office staff. Has a friendly demeanor and exhibits a great deal of patience with our patients.
Responsibilities
- The Medical Assistant works under the general direction of the physician to provide healthcare to individuals as instructed by the physician; performs routine clinical procedures as directed by the physician; participates in patient education; enters appropriate documentation into patients' health record; performs all other duties as assigned within the scope of certification
- Prepare patients for examination and take vitals.
- Obtain medical history by asking patients questions about their medical conditions and record health history including medications and allergies.
- Reports directly to the Practice Administrator.
- Alert provider of patient’s health condition and test results.
- Prepare examination rooms.
- Sanitize exam rooms after each patient.
- Set-up EKG machine and perform EKGs as instructed by the provider.
- Equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies.
- Prepare charts for providers no less than the day prior.
- Assist patients with mobility as needed.
- Call/fax prescriptions to pharmacies.
- Manage provider inbox.
- Manage voicemails.
- Obtain prior authorization for prescriptions.
- Stay up to date with MA certification.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience (required)
- CMA - Current Medical Assistant Certification (required)
- Cardiology experience is a must
