Position Overview
The Director of Operations will be responsible for leading and managing the daily operational functions of Cardin McCoy, with a focus on process improvement, cross-functional coordination, and team leadership. This hybrid role requires a strategic yet hands-on professional who can be in our Nashville office three days a week, overseeing core operational areas such as production, logistics, inventory, and office administration. The ideal candidate will be able to align operational activities with the company’s growth objectives and foster a culture of efficiency and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight and Efficiency
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business, including production, inventory, fulfillment, and logistics.
- Develop and implement operational processes and workflows to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Track and analyze KPIs, identifying areas for process improvement and setting measurable targets.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and manage a team across various operational functions, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to team members, ensuring alignment with company goals and operational standards.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and set individual and team goals.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels to meet customer demand.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to maintain timely delivery and quality of materials.
- Implement inventory tracking and control systems, reducing waste and managing costs effectively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Development, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure smooth coordination of product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to manage budgets, track expenses, and forecast operational costs.
- Ensure alignment between operations and strategic company goals.
Customer Service and Quality Assurance
- Develop and oversee quality control standards to maintain high product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with customer service to address and resolve operational issues, enhancing the customer experience.
- Implement best practices for order fulfillment and shipping, ensuring timely delivery of products.
Hybrid Work Coordination
- Work in the Nashville office three days per week, providing hands-on leadership and direct support to the team.
- Effectively manage remote tasks and maintain communication with team members on hybrid days, ensuring seamless operational continuity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in retail or apparel.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficiency with operations software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, inventory management software).
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and balance hands-on management with strategic oversight.
