What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Specialist position at Cardinal Glass Industries?
- New PC Setup, including appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications.
- Active Directory users, computers, groups etc., maintaining clean roles.
- Serve as a TEIR I level support or TEIR II if experienced in such areas.
- Replace or Install hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on users’ premises.
- Work on plant wide projects using hand tools, power tools, and mobile/areal equipment.
- Network cable installation and repair.
- Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction.
- Provide telephone, in-person and online support to end-users.
- Provide individual and group instruction, as needed, on the use of equipment and software, and on network features.
- Troubleshooting and problem solving all types of IT related issues.
- Inventory and shop area maintenance.
- Any other tasked related to job function and safe working environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of related work experience, education can substitute.
- Must drive for company business, requiring a Motor Vehicle Records check with a favorable result meeting company policy requirement.
- Must work after hour calls and overtime when needed.
- Zero progressive discipline in the last 6 months.
- CompTIA A certification preferred; we can help you obtain.
- Basic knowledge of PC hardware.
- Microsoft Operating Systems experience.
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Microsoft DOS.
- Microsoft Office.
- Remote connection technologies.

Work Environment:
- Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds, team lift to 100 pounds.
- Work environment to include using a vertical lift to a height up to 35 feet.
- Exposure to noise, heat, and fumes as found in a repair or fabrication facility.
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions is possible.
